Jul 2007 BE FRUITFUL
God has called us to be fruitful and to multiply and
he has chosen us to be fruitful as a sign of discipleship and by being
fruitful, we glorify our Father and those who understand this concept is
liken to a seed falling on good soil. With spiritual understanding, the
written word becomes Living Word.
Remember the 5 Cs of living is not Cash, Career,
Car, Condominium and Credit card. Or its modern version of Connectivity to
be tuned in, Choices- the more the merrier, Cheek- doing things our ways,
Causes- because it is hip to help or Consumers who spend first and pay
later.
We offer you
The 5 Cs of the
fruitfulness :
CHARACTER
CONDUCT
COMMUNICATION
CONTRIBUTION
CONVERTS
Gen 1:22 and Gen 1:28
22God
blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the
water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
28God blessed them and said to them,
“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over
the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature
that moves on the ground.”
John 15:8
8This is to
my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my
disciples.
John 15:16
16You did not
choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that
will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
Matt
13:23
23But the one who received the seed that
fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He
produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
John
15:5
5“I am the vine; you
are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much
fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
What
are the obstacles that prevent us from being fruitful and how to be
fruitful. Therefore, to be fruitful, we need to abide in Jesus because
apart from Jesus, we will struggle and faces many distractions and anxiety
that prevents us from being fruitful.
The 5
Cs of the fruitfulness :
Character, - WHO
YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU ARE
Consider the fruit of the spirit in Gal 5:22-23
22But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Conduct, WHAT YOU DO
Our
sinful nature cannot be influence by God’s righteousness. Only through faith
then can we receive the gift of righteousness and letting the Holy Spirit
take over. Remember No righteousness No freedom.
Rm
6:20 and 6: 22-23
20When you were
slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.
22But now that you
have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you
reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in£
Christ Jesus our Lord.
Philippians 1:11
11filled with the
fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and
praise of God.
Leviticus 11:44-45
44I am the LORD
your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make
yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground.
45I am the LORD who brought you up out
of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
There
is no true happiness apart from holiness and no holiness apart from Christ.
Please note that in the book of Leviticus – Holiness is mentioned 87 times
and Holy is mentioned 65 times.
Also
remember Hebrews 12:14
14Make every
effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one
will see the Lord.
Communication,
WHAT YOU SAY
We
need to offer the fruits of our lips continuously and communicate with God
Hebrews 13:15
15Through Jesus,
therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit
of lips that confess his name.
Luke
19:37
37When he came
near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd
of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the
miracles they had seen:
Contribution, WHAT I GIVE- GIVING
This
is the giving of your time, energy, talents and other skills of listening
and comforting to cheer others. Serve God by serving others. Make the best
choice choose to serve others. Let our life be a legacy of service to
others.
Hebrews 13:16
16And do not
forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is
pleased.
Philippians 4:14-19
14Yet it was good
of you to share in my troubles. 15Moreover,
as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the
gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the
matter of giving and receiving, except you only; 16for
even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was
in need. 17Not that I am looking
for a gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your account.
18I have received full payment
and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from
Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable
sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19And my God will meet all your needs
according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Converts WHO U BRING TO CHRIST
When we open our hearts
to the Lord, he opens our hearts to the lost. This is the ultimate in our
walk with Christ- the fruits of soul winning because the Good News of Christ
is too good to keep to yourself.
