Swiftness of Life and Time

1 Apr 2007     Salvation and Saving Grace

God will rescue his people from the wrath of the Lamb- salvation is in the Lord and the saving grace will be granted to his people. There will be a multitude of people left behind who have come out of the great tribulation. In order to escape the wrath, we have to abide and follow God’s teachings. Salvation belongs to God. Those who rejects the Son will not see life eternal. Believe in Him – and blessings, protection and favour  will follow. God’s wrath will be against ungodly and the wicket and the unrighteous. Example AIDS ( Africa/Asia in Dangerous State). We are to be reconciled back to God not by good works, tears , prayers..etc  but as we are justified by Faith. Rebellion, Disobedience, evil desires, greed and sexual lust, restlessness ..etc are signs of our times. Jesus is coming back and coming like a thief in the night. We need to re-focus on the Living and True God and put Him first and live for him.

 1st Thess 5:9

9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 Acts 4:12

12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

 Psalms 27:1

1     The LORD is my light and my salvation—

       whom shall I fear?

 Rev 7:9-14

9After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10And they cried out in a loud voice:

      “Salvation belongs to our God,

      who sits on the throne,

      and to the Lamb.”

11All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12saying:

      “Amen!

      Praise and glory

and wisdom and thanks and honor

      and power and strength

be to our God for ever and ever.

      Amen!”

13Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”

14I answered, “Sir, you know.”

John 3:36

36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”£

Rm 1:18

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

Rm 5:8-9

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

Eph 5:6

6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

Col 3:6

6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.£

7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

Rev 14:9-12

9A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, 10he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.” 12This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.

1st Thess 1:9-10

9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

6Apr 2007   Without vision the people perish

Vision stands for Word of God, revelation, understanding  of who God is and what God intended for His People.  Without the correct vision, we are vulnerable to the attacks on all fronts, in our individual capacity, in our family life, and as a church. Leaders are stripped of their spiritual authority and make to be laughing stock. ( Duet   ). In Rev 12, Satan’s time is short. In the last 5 years, we are seeing so many disasters, what is happening, Satan is unleashing  destructions. (Romans 2) Salvation is near, and we must not be passive and lethargic  (Isaiah 53:4). Jesus died for our grief/ sins and he died so that we could live( Cor)  God ‘s peace comes from the right relationship with God and one with another. There is a spiritual root of sickness due to our conflicts – separation of you and yourself, between others and with God. The way to solve the conflict is forgiveness, as God forgives us. Jesus died for our sickness- forgive one another as Jesus forgives you.. What does the cross means- Jesus carry your grievances and sorrows and bringing love, life and peace and as channel of God’s love.  We need to live for God ( 2nd Cor 5:15) We are saved for a purpose. Then there will be a transformation. We need to know what his purpose is ? ( Eph 2:10)  1st Cor 1:9 .  Do not be conform but be transform  by the renewing of your mind . Eyes not seen and ears not heard. Like eyes wide shut and deaf ears.

Heb 2:14 – Fear of Death- Devil is very powerful- in some places all things are worship. Jesus come tos et p[eople free from these demonic powers

Acts 2:38  Jesus died and rose again

New creations in Christ ( 2nd Cor 5:17)

Pour the gifts of the spirit

1st Cor 2:9-13

This is the season of crucification. Jesus died and rose again- this is the secret wisdom. It brings us life, hope and salvation and reconcile us back to God. (Phillipians 2 ) Empty himself and came here- not seeking popularity- moving from village to village

rescue his people from the wrath of the Lamb- salvation is in the Lord and the saving grace will be granted to his people. There will be a multitude of people left behind who have come out of the great tribulation. In order to escape the wrath, we have to abide and follow God’s teachings. Salvation belongs to God. 29 Apr 2007     Swiftness of Life and time

Pastor Rishi

Time is the most precious gift. We are reminded of time and life like flower, breath, smoke which vanishes. Time flies and events happen to our lives. Each man’s life is like a breath, springs up and die, and vanishes like smoke. Life is short - What do we do with our time and who do we focus on. If we understand this truth in the Word, we will be concerned with our time and  change our character and relationships-  to use it wisely- in our values and in the  way we act, speak. We will invest in things of importance and there  are 3 important investments we may make:

  1. In our relationships with the Lord;
  2. In our relationship with our Family
  3. In our relationship with our parents:

 Relationship with the Lord

In order to keep our relationships with lord right- believers have to spent time  and connect with God. The Word is like “ bread” and Prayer is like “ breath”. We must not allow distractions likfe TV, Job, Computer- chatting ..etc to dominate our lives.

Relationship with the  Family

Time spent with family- spouse and kids are never wasted. In real life, we normally give our last minutes to our family.

Time with spouse

The relationship with our spouse is the most intimate, physical and emotional and sacred. Good marriage is good communication and it requires time. People change- and have their likes and dislikes. God wants husband and wife to be together. Husband should not be earning the “salt” and forgetting the “sugar”. Parents need to focus on children, but not at the expense of each other. It must not be “everything  is about the children”.

Time with children

Children are like gifts- entrusted to our care. Parents – both father and mother are crucial in moulding the character and values of the children- revolving around God. E.g Training them to go to church on time. It is noted that father is important in the child’s life- for emotional stability- reducing juvenile detention and teen pregnancies ..etc. We can not let the education of our children to be left to the hands of the nannies and drivers, or even to dormitory school – they may end up with Better English but Bitter Hearts. Children ‘s life will be ruined and are hurting.

Relationship with Parents

We have 2 set of parents- be fair and spent time serving the Lord. Sacrifice is the essence of love- how much you give of yourself.

 Job 14:1-2

 1    “Man born of woman

is of few days and full of trouble.

2    He springs up like a flower and withers away;

like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.

 Psalms 39:5

 5     You have made my days a mere handbreadth;

the span of my years is as nothing before you.

Each man’s life is but a breath.

 Psalms 102:3

 3     For my days vanish like smoke;

my bones burn like glowing embers.

Psalm 90:12

12   Teach us to number our days aright,

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Luke 10-38-42

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.£ Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

 Mark 10:9

9Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

 Malachi 4:6

6He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
