5  Mar 2006     From Crisis to Christ

When we have nothing to turn to , we cry out to the Lord. God is interested in your heart.  Our attitude determines our destiny in life. We can claim and accept His promises or reject, refuse  or just turn away. We need to have the vision of Jesus and take Jesus whereever we go- and oneday we will be like Jesus- full of love and compassion. Jesus died that our purpose in life might be fulfilled but we can lose our destiny.God uses different people in bliblical history to teach us. The life of Samson teaches us to hold on to our vision, and John the Baptist to prepare the way . Do not let the crowds destroy our  ministries. Let us not follow the crowds but the clouds as in Old testament times.

Judges 13:5 - concerning Samson

5because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines."

Luke 1: 13-17 - concerning John the Baptist

13But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. 14He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.

Matthew 11:11

11I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

John 1:6-9

6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.

7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.

 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

 9The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.£

12 Mar 2006      WHEN JESUS REIGNS

The kingdom is come- the Lamb of God Jesus is worthy and thru His blood- we receive the forgiveness of our past, present and future sins. He is worthy of our praise and spiritual incenses- even the raising of Hands in worship.  In Him we are redeemed  and reconciled back to God, blessed over and above all living animals and things like in the beginning. When Jesus returns, there will be a rapture of the church, and we will rule with Jesus in the millennium. We are reminded to be overcomers and to endure and bear our present problems, some even called to be martyrs. During Jesus's reign,  there will be fullness of life (long life), fullness of light ( no need for sun), fullness of love (just see the animals), fullness of peace (no more swords)  as well as as fullness of knowledge (of the Lord).And we will rule with Jesus.

Revelation 5:9-10

9And they sang a new song:

"You are worthy to take the scroll

and to open its seals,

because you were slain,

and with your blood you purchased men for God

from every tribe and language and people and nation.

10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,

        and they will reign on the earth."

Psalms 141:2- spiritual incenses

2 May my prayer be set before you like incense;

may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Genesis 1:28

28God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Deutronomy 15:6

6For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

Isaiah 32:1

See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice.

Revelation 20:4-6

4    I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5    (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

 6   Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

2nd Timothy 2:12

12 if we endure, we will also reign with him.

If we disown him, he will also disown us;

Revelation  3:21

21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Revelation  22:4-6

4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Isaiah 2:3-5

3Many peoples will come and say,

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,

to the house of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us his ways,

so that we may walk in his paths."

The law will go out from Zion,

the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4 He will judge between the nations

and will settle disputes for many peoples.

They will beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will not take up sword against nation,

nor will they train for war anymore.

5 Come, O house of Jacob,

let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:6-9

6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling  together;and a little child will lead them.

7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together,

and the lion will eat straw like the ox .

8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,

and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.

 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,

for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 65:20

20 "Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days,

or an old man who does not live out his years;

he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth;

he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.

19 Mar 2006    TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY

God make us in His image and we are precious souls in His sight. We are entrusted to be part of our earthly family and also spiritual family. Each one of us have our own failures,  shortcomings, weaknesses and  struggles in life. We learn from biblical lives of Cain and Abel, Noah, Job, Rebekah~ Jacob, Issac~ Esau and parable (earthly story with spiritual meanings) of the prodigal son how misunderstanding, discord, jealousy, favoritism, hatred, weaknesses and problems are part of family living. No family is perfect, and taking care of our family is the key to godly living and the household of faith.  On an individual basis, we need to check ourselves, remove undesirable habits, support one another as parents, show genuine love and warmth towards the children so that we may be qualified to serve in His ministries. God Bless our families.

John 19:26-27 - Jesus cares for his family

26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son,"

27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

1 Timothy 5:8

8If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

1 Timothy 3:5

5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)

Gen 9:21-23 ~ Cover the weakness, failures and mistakes of your brothers and sisters

21When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. 23But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father’s nakedness.

Gen 25 :28 ~ Do not show favoritism- replace with genuine love not based on IQ, talents or abilities

28Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Job 2:9 ~ Remove your human nature and replace them with Godly nature

9His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"

Luke 15:25-32 ~ Be mature and not let jealousy control your life

25"Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’

28"The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

31"‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’"

John 7:5  Disbelief  and doubts within the family will be there

5For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

26 Mar 2006    Eagle Christians

Pastor Mulyanto of CWS Rajawali- Depok  challenged us to move from  a "chicken" mindset and mentality and  become eagle christians. We have to stop  pecking at the dirt, living our lives without a vision, a plan  and  a destiny. There is wisdom in learning  from the animals and birds ( Like Solomon says to look at the ants).

To be eagle christians, we simply observe the eagles  - HOW to stay in the STORM, HOW to see the BIG picture and HOW to set the squeak out of the beak.

STAY IN THE STORM- Recognising our position  as well as our problems ( Who am I ?), and in spite of them, we are to strive for excellence, to soar high like the eagle above the clouds- over and above our problems. There are risks in flying high in the spiritual  realm so we have to come to the Lord for He is able and cares for you.

SEE THE BIG PICTURE- Like the eagle, being bird of prey it watches near and far for living prey/food-not dead caucus. We also need a vision and focus.  Like David and Goliath- it can be TOO BIG TO MISS or TOO BIG TO HIT. In times of trials, focus on What God sees- then you will act differently.

SET THE SQUEAK OUT- Like the eagle which retreats to the highest cliff to scrape its beak, re-grow and weather proof its feathers / wings with new oil,  and prepares  itself. We also need to enter our own prayer room and be silent We need to ask ourselves is my prayer life right ? Am I  loving Jesus? Instead of continuing in our old ways, be it hateful , cheating, lying, retaliation or being angry, we need to seek the oil of the Holy Spirit to anoint us and ask God to raise us above the storm. And like the eagle, we shall  fly higher than before and start to see bigger miracles in our lives and  become eagle christians.

YOU RAISED ME UP! PRAISE THE LORD.

Job 12:7

7 "But ask the animals, and they will teach you,

or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

Proverbs 30:18-19

18 "There are three things that are too amazing for me,

four that I do not understand:

19 the way of an eagle in the sky,

the way of a snake on a rock,

the way of a ship on the high seas,

and the way of a man with a maiden.

Job 39:28-29

28 He dwells on a cliff and stays there at night;

a rocky crag is his stronghold.

29 From there he seeks out his food;

his eyes detect it from afar.

Isaiah 40:30-31

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.
